Route Itinerary

Day 1: Lemosho Glades (Start Point)

Kickstart your journey at the Lemosho Glades, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. This starting point gentle introduction to the mountain, allowing you to gradually acclimatize to the altitude. Trek through lush rainforests adorned with unique flora and fauna, and keep an eye out for colobus monkeys swinging through the trees. Spend the first night at the Big, nestled in the heart of the forest.

Day 2: Shira Plateau

As you ascend further, leave the rainforests behind and enter the heath and moorland zone. The day’s trek takes you to the Shira Plateau, a vast high-altitude plateau with surreal landscapes. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Kibo summit and the surrounding wilderness. Camp overnight at the Shira 2 Camp, surrounded by towering volcanic rocks.

Day 3: Barranco Valley

Continue your adventure along the Lemosho Route as you traverse the rocky outcrops of the Southern Circuit. The trail guides you through the stunning Barranco Valley, characterized by its impressive volcanic formations. Day 4: Karanga Valley

The fourth day presents you with a picturesque trek through the Karanga Valley. Descend to the Mweka where you’ll rest for the night.

Day 6: Mweka Gate

On the final day of your Lemos, descend through the lush rainforest, spotting the Mweka Gate you’ll bid farewell to the mountain and receive a well-deserved certificate of achievement. Celebrate your accomplishment and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve experienced.
