Mafia Island

Mafia Island
Mafia Island is a great place to get away from the busy and fast-paced everyday life. This island is still natural and unspoiled, so there are no paved roads and not many people visit. It looks like Zanzibar did 30 or 40 years ago. The island is peaceful, and the people who live there are very kind.
Mafia is an island in the Zanzibar Archipelago. It is surrounded by some of the world’s best coral reefs. Almost half of Mafia’s coastline is part of the Mafia Island Marine Park, which has coral reefs, mangrove woods, and lagoons. This is the Indian Ocean’s biggest protected area. Divers and snorkelers dream about the barrier reef. It has more than 460 kinds of fish and 50 kinds of crabs. The amazing and clean dive spots in Mafia have stayed a well-kept secret. Most of the island is made up of mangrove woods, so the beaches are not as wide as those in Zanzibar, but they are still beautiful. The best thing about the island is the beautiful sea life. This is where you can see humpback whales, turtles, and the whale shark, which is the biggest fish in the world. So, Mafia Island is a unique place for tourists and newlyweds to relax after a safari in Tanzania.
