Despite being home to Africa’s largest and deepest lake, Tanzania hardly ever offers canoe safaris to its visitors. Only in Arusha National Park, Lake Duluti, and Lake Manyara National Park (when the water level is high enough) can you go wildlife viewing from a canoe. All of the canoeing takes place on lakes rather than rivers, and the maximum duration of a safari is three hours.
After El Nino inundated most of Lake Manyara National Park, we began offering canoe tours as a practical means of seeing the park’s wildlife. We are the first and only outfitter to be granted permission to run this type of adventure activity in any of Tanzania’s national parks. You’ll be taking your canoe trip with a knowledgeable Wayo guide.
