Route Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Upon your arrival in Moshi, settle into your accommodation and take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Meet with your experienced guide who will provide a thorough briefing and equipment check. They will also address any questions or concerns you may have about the upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Moshi to Umbwe Camp (2,900m / 9,514ft)

Difficulty Level: Challenging
After an early breakfast, drive to the Umbwe Gate, located at an altitude of 1,650 meters, to begin your trek. The trail starts in the dense rainforest, gradually climbing through a mixture of vegetation and steep sections. Enjoy the lush scenery around you as you make your way to the first campsite, Umbwe Camp, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950m / 12,959ft)

Difficulty Level: Challenging
Embark on a challenging hike through picturesque landscapes, including stunning views of valleys and ridges. The trail becomes steeper as you ascend towards Barranco Camp, situated on a spectacular ridge. Marvel at the panoramic vistas and take in the natural beauty surrounding you.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m / 13,106ft)

Difficulty Level: Moderate
Today’s trek entails traversing the striking Barranco Wall, a challenging but exhilarating section filled with stunning views. As you reach the top, enjoy a sense of accomplishment and continue along the undulating path towards Karanga Camp. This intermediate campsite provides an opportunity to rest and acclimatize before the final push to the summit.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m / 15,331ft)

Difficulty Level: Challenging
Embark on a steep ascent toward Barafu Camp, which is located just below the Kilimanjaro summit. As you gain altitude, the landscape transforms into a barren alpine desert, offering a unique and surreal experience. Take rest breaks along the way and relish the awe-inspiring views. Prepare yourself mentally and physically for the final night summit attempt.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft) and descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m / 10,170ft)

Difficulty Level: Extremely challenging
Begin the steep night-time climb from Barafu Camp to reach the summit, Uhuru Peak. Ascend through the darkness and reach the breathtaking summit at sunrise, where you can celebrate your accomplishment and capture memorable photos. Descend to Mweka Camp, located in the lush rainforest, for a well-deserved rest overnight.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m / 5,380ft) and return to Moshi

Difficulty Level: Moderate
After a hearty breakfast, embark on the final descent through the exquisite rainforest, filled with diverse flora and fauna. Reach Mweka Gate, where you’ll bid farewell to your experienced guides and receive a commemorative certificate acknowledging your Kilimanjaro achievement. Return to Moshi to celebrate your successful expedition.
